
Dr Ilyas Akhundzada graduated from Azerbaijan State Medical University with a diploma summa cum laude. He did an internship at Oncology service of the Baku State Oncology clinic. His residency training was at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of Ege University in Izmir, Turkey.
While living in Izmir during his residency years, he started participating actively in the life of the Izmir Society of Classical Homoeopathy between 2003 and 2009. During these years he translated many homeopathic texts (including classic material medicas, paragraphs from `Organon` etc.) from English and Russian into Turkish. This interest was also driven by his self-study in Homeopathy.
After completing his residency training, he went back to Baku, Azerbaijan, and started to work as a plastic surgeon in the Central Hospital of Oil workers. In 2011 having held a two-step examination, he became the first fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery from Azerbaijan.
His homeopathic career continued with education at the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (IACH), led by Professor George Vithoulkas. He completed the course by holding an examination and submitting case studies and getting a diploma from IACH. Since 2019 he has been a faculty member at the London College of Homeopathy (LCH), where he teaches courses in homeopathy, including topics of Materia Medica and case taking.
In addition to his clinical work as a plastic surgeon and tutor in LCH, Dr Akhundzada runs a private practice where he consults patients in the field of Classical Homeopathy.
His interests include Ayurveda, positive thinking techniques, different fields of high mathematics and classical music.
